What is Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a proven therapeutic technique with over 2,500 years of clinical application. By stimulating specific points on your body with fine, sterile needles, acupuncture in London at our practice restores balance to your natural energy flow (Qi), reduces inflammation, improves circulation and activates your body's innate healing response.

What is included

01

First Consultation

Your first acupuncture visit begins with a comprehensive consultation where we discuss your health concerns, medical history, lifestyle factors and treatment goals. This conversation helps us understand not just your symptoms but the underlying patterns that may be contributing to your condition.

We also perform a traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic assessment, which may include pulse and tongue diagnosis, time-honoured techniques that provide valuable insights into your body's current state of balance and health.

02

First Treatment

Based on our consultation, we develop a personalised treatment plan that may incorporate acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and movement guidance. During your first acupuncture session in London, we explain exactly what we are doing and why, so you feel comfortable and informed throughout.

Acupuncture needles are incredibly fine, much thinner than injection needles, and most people are surprised by how little they feel. The sensation is typically described as a slight tingling or gentle pressure, followed by deep relaxation as your body's healing response activates.

03

Ongoing Care & Results

The number of acupuncture sessions you need depends on the nature, severity and chronicity of your condition. Acute issues often respond quickly, sometimes within 1-3 sessions, whilst chronic conditions typically require a sustained approach of 6-10 treatments for optimal results.

Many patients report noticeable improvement after their first acupuncture session, with cumulative benefits building over successive treatments. We review your progress regularly and adjust your treatment plan as needed.
