Lower back pain

Updated: Jan 21, 2020

Lower back pain (LBP) can be a debilitating condition. I remember as a child, my dad having to crawl around on the floor for weeks and was unable to bring home the proverbial bacon due to damaging his lower back. In addition, any slight problems that I have ever personally experienced with LBP have left me feeling vulnerable and weak.

This article is going to address some of the reasons why lower back pain occurs in each one of us individuals.

One of the most common feelings of pain in the back is a shooting pain that starts at the lower back and shoots down the leg; this is called sciatica which can happen for several reasons. One of them is that the glute muscle (the bum ) is not active; this makes a tiny muscle underneath (piriformis) work a thousand times harder. What this Cause is the muscle to become tight and inflexible, which in turn puts a lot of pressure on the sciatic nerve. In this case, individuals start feeling a shooting pain running down the back of the leg.

Several methods and remedies can help you solve the problem. One course of action is to strengthen the glute muscle, e.g. squats and lunges, considering you must be able to have a full range of motion with both exercises. Particularly with being capable enough getting into a deep squat, so it is adequate to awaken the muscle. Most people are not equipped to get into this range safely due to weakness and tightness within the body. Therefore it is best to seek out a professional who can help you access your full body potential.

Another feeling that people experience is a dull aching or cramping in the lower back; this is usually due to the hip flexors. The main suspects being the quads (front of the leg) and psoas (a deep muscle that connects to the spine and the hip). Both muscles respectively end up being too tight, pulling on the lower back vertebrates of the spine or anterior pelvis, causing pain. Mobility exercises such as a split squat, couch stretch and back squat can relieve these muscles.

A different method to relieve back pain is the use of Chinese medicine through the application of cupping and acupuncture. This article is going to concentrate on a term call bi syndrome; lower back pain is classified within this category.

First things first, what is Bi syndrome? It is when Qi and blood can no longer flow freely within regions of the body due to obstructions, resulting in pain and limited movement. In this case, suction Cups and needles are applied, distally, parallel and directly to the site of the obstruction, reducing pain and increasing mobility. The suction cupping and acupuncture help remove toxins from the body.

The best course of action is to combined movement and therapy such as cupping or acupuncture together to get the best results for recovery
